As of July 1, 2019, the color of the work clothing of employees within the rail sector has changed from yellow to orange. This no longer differs from road workers and other employees working in construction. This is more in line with countries around the Netherlands and is easier for contractors who work in both construction and the rail sector.
Consequences of the change
From July 1, 2019 the Industry Guideline for high-visibility safety clothing went into effect for work on and near the track for trains, trams and metros. However, the safety employees who work along the track continue to wear yellow reflective clothing. This makes the distinction clear.
