Grisport Ranger properties
The new Grisport Ranger collection has been available since autumn 2018. The collection is the result of a unique collaboration between three top brands, each with their own specialty. In short, the best of three worlds comes together in the new Ranger collection from Grisport. The unique waterproof S3 collection consists of boots, high models and low work shoes.
The work shoes are characterized by the ideal fit and comfort of Grisport safety shoes, the waterproofness and breathability of Gore-Tex® linings and the optimal grip and durability of Vibram® outsoles. The models are equipped with a fiberglass protective toe cap, Kevlar midsole and a practical scuff guard.
Gore-Tex®
The big advantage of work shoes with a Gore-Tex lining is that water cannot penetrate the shoe, but sweat can escape. The secret lies in the Gore-Tex membrane, the core of Gore-Tex. The membrane contains microscopic pores that are smaller than a water droplet and larger than a water vapor molecule. Gore-Tex owes its breathability and waterproofness to this. The breathability of Gore-Tex work shoes
Firstly, Gore-Tex work shoes are characterized by strong breathability. In general, breathability is defined as the air permeability of the fabric. However, it is more than that. Breathability is mainly about the ability to allow moisture, such as sweat, to pass through from the inside. This is an important property, because it keeps the skin dry, even during heavy exertion. This way you don't get overheated or hypothermic.
The waterproofness of Gore-Tex work shoes

Vibram Soles
Like Grisport, Vibram is an Italian company and world market leader in rubber soles. The soles were designed in 1935 after a serious accident involving mountain hikers, which was partly attributed to poor footwear. The founder of Vibram was very interested in this and with financial help from Leopoldo Pirelli of the Pirelli tires, the first rubber soles were brought onto the market in 1937.
Vibram soles are designed to provide good traction on rough and uneven surfaces and are very durable. Vibram soles are produced in Brazil, China, the United States and Italy. Vibram soles are made of high-quality rubber. There are various development departments around the world that are constantly busy optimizing the soles they develop. The soles are extensively tested in the various test centers. The soles are tested for:
- The degree of wear
- Stability
- How resistant the shoes are to chemicals
- How much protection they provide on slippery surfaces
Once the soles have passed the various tests, they are actually put into production. The soles have the yellow Vibram logo which is underneath every shoe with a Vibram sole.
