Helly Hansen, known for their rainwear since 1870, has been innovating since the beginning in search of the best rainwear. This means that the Mandal rain pants, rain jacket and bib have also been innovative since they came onto the market. The Norwegian town after which the collection is named has its origins in fishing, with this in mind the Mandal collection has been specially developed for fishing, but it is also suitable for other industries where heavy rain or other wet work occurs regularly.
Helly Hansen Rainwear meets the EN 343 standard for protective clothing against rain. This means that the material and seams have been tested for waterproofness. Most Helly Hansen rainwear has been tested at level 3 for water resistance. This makes the rainwear extremely resistant to precipitation such as rain and snow and offers the best protection during bad weather.

Helly Hansen's extensive collection offers various collections of rainwear. The different collections offer different features. The Mandal collection is a heavy collection with a heavy canvas weight. A good counterpart is the best-selling Voss collection, which has a relatively light fabric weight, making it more flexible for less heavy work.
New to the collection since 2019 are the Helly Hansen Storm rainwear and the Helly Hansen Gale Rainwear. Both collections named after different types of storms have been developed to cope with them. Both these collections are made of polyester with a PVC layer, with an important detail: they are phthalate-free, which means they have a low impact on the environment. The Storm collection offers rainwear for fishing and consists of a rain anorak, rain bib, raincoat and a life jacket for the sea. The combination of these clothing provides maximum protection, the rainwear has a more modern style than most rainwear. The Gale rainwear collection, on the other hand, is a bit lighter in material but has the same kind of modern look as the Storm collection. It offers excellent rainwear that is adjustable in several places.
