Collection: Safety boots S7

S7 safety boots are an improved version of an S3 safety boot, because they meet the Water Resistant (WR) standard of EN ISO 20345, making them waterproof S7 safety boots. This Water Resistant is waterproof with direct water contact for at least 80 minutes. The choice in the EN ISO 20345 guidelines was made to: S3 safety boots to give the S7 standard with this standard. In addition to being waterproof, the safety boots also have all other requirements such as an anti-penetration midsole and a steel or plastic protective toe cap. Waterproofing is usually done with an intermediate layer or lining such as GoreTex, Waterproof and HDry. These are breathable intermediate layers that do not let water in, making S7 safety shoes truly waterproof.

S7 technologies

To make the safety boots as waterproof as possible, S7 safety boots use various technologies

  • Goretex- Goretex is a large international producer of waterproof and breathable materials, you often find it in safety shoes and safety boots. The combination of the moisture-wicking material that pushes water out but does not let it in ensures dry comfort all day long.
  • Helly Tech Waterproof Membrane- A membrane designed by Helly Hansen's own technology, incorporated into their safety boots, together with various breathable linings, ensures a waterproof safety shoe
  • HDry- HDry from Sixton is a kind of sock membrane built into the safety shoe or boot. This keeps the water out and drains the moisture to the outer layers

Maintaining S7 Safety Boots

Maintaining S7 safety boots is the same as other types of safety boots, what is important to take into account is the breathable function of, for example, Goretex. For example, leather grease reduces the breathability of leather safety shoes with waterproof materials, so it is best to use leather gel. Furthermore, the maintenance is the same. For safety shoes with a fabric outer fabric, you can simply use waterproof spray after cleaning.
