EN ISO 13688 (formerly EN 340): General requirements for protective work clothing
The EN ISO 13688 (formerly EN 340 standard) describes the general requirements that all protective clothing must meet. The standard covers all general requirements for all protective equipment work clothes required within the CE marking in Europe.
About EN ISO 13688 (EN 340) standards

All protective work clothing covered by EN ISO 13688 (EN 340) must meet the following requirements:
- Fit: the clothing properly covers and protects the body when worn correctly
- Design: the design focuses on functionality and user comfort
- Material: the fabrics used are colourfast, dimensionally stable, strong, durable and washable; the fabric can withstand normal working conditions
- Marking: labels and tags in the clothing indicate the dimensions, composition of the fabric, washing instructions, the applicable standards and other information relevant to the user
- Sizing: the sizing is based on body measurements, measured according to European sizing
CE marking
The CE marking that can be found on many products indicates that the product complies with the applicable rules within the European Economic Area. CE stands for Conformité Européenne, which means it is in accordance with European regulations.
